Senior Engineering Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Engineering specialist to join our team to manage all aspects of the engineering and maintenance operations for multiple sites across our Southern Operations. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing environments, and to provide solutions using sound engineering principles. Your proven ability to lead and develop teams, is paramount for our role.
The role’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Take a proactive role in the management of all aspects of the engineering and maintenance operations
- Oversee, develop and implement maintenance and engineering systems of control appropriate for the plant operations
- Management of the Planned Maintenance teams / systems
- Develop and implement appropriate equipment maintenance strategies to ensure reliability of Southern Operations plants
- Provide direction, advice and assistance to the maintenance and production staff in engineering and maintenance-related issues
- Ensure that maintenance manning levels meet plant requirements
- Monitor and respond to maintenance workforce capability needs
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of contractor and suppliers
- Prepare and submit Repairs & Maintenance budgets
- Keep the senior management team informed about risks and opportunities pertaining to engineering and maintenance at our plants.
About you:
- Must have or be eligible to be NER and RPEV registered
- Experience within a FMCG food manufacturing environment is preferred
- At least 3 - 5 years’ professional experience in a similar position
- Mechanical engineering degree is preferred
- Postgrad qualifications in maintenance management will be an advantage
- The ability to plan organise and control project and maintenance activities to optimise the use of available resources
- Experience in preparing and complying with R&M budgets
- Sound knowledge of OH&S regulations
- Demonstrated report writing and analytical skills.
