About the Role
The JBS Pork Division is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Group Manager to join our team in Melbourne, VIC, on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager of Processing Operations, you will be responsible for managing the quality assurance systems for all production sites within the JBS Pork Division.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring our Quality Management System remains uniform across the Pork Division Plants.
- Performing regular visits to our Pork Division plants, providing support to our Management Teams relating to the administration, application, and training in the JBS QMS.
- Performing internal reviews of the QMS that incorporate documentation, implementation of standards, and the target of operational procedural excellence.
- Maintaining records and reporting results to the General Manager and Processing Ops team, also supporting target setting for the Pork Division Group.
- Ensuring that our commitment to Animal Welfare is clearly understood and embedded within our culture through training, monitoring, CCTV analysis, trends, and weekly monitoring to the standards.
- Ensuring that plants are well informed of all relevant legislation, food safety issues, legislative, scientific, and technical developments and updates.
- Providing reviews of QMS documentation being prepared for amendments and submission to DAFF.
- Reviewing and supporting our Plants with investigations, including complying with and responding to significant overseas market access and customer requirement opportunities.
- Supporting and assisting our Plants in the preparation and participation in significant regulatory and key customer and certification third-party audits.
- Maintaining an up-to-date reference standard document and liaising with DAFF to ensure reference documents are up to date, including the filing and registering of all controlled documents (e.g., Export Meat Manuals, legislation, DAFF Notices, information, and legislation).
- Identifying, developing, and working on key process improvement projects.
- Managing and chairing regular FSQA Team meetings across both the Pork Division and Corporate FSQA teams.
- Supporting the development of a competent, capable, and committed FSQA Management Team network to meet present and future organizational needs.
- Leading, developing, and coaching staff in FSQA-themed activities across the team.
- Working alongside the FSQA management team to ensure the effective rollout of new, significant FSQA projects and procedures to ensure they are uniform and standardized across the group and that they meet relevant regulations and present little or no risk to JBS.
- Performing other duties as directed.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Recognized qualifications in Quality Assurance and Auditing.
- Flexibility to work shift hours and travel.
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and other QA programs (e.g., GFSI, HACCP, Coles, and Woolworths standards).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical data and compile reports.
- Excellent working knowledge of meat processing operations.
- Effective time management skills, self-drive, and motivation.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to positively influence the behavior of others.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a source of technical support to the plant.
- Current driver’s license.
