Manages the movement of livestock, hides, and finished products. An exciting opportunity for a motivated New Product Development Manager has arisen at our Brooklyn Plant. The purpose of this role is to assist in the development of new beef, lamb and value add products and improve existing products within the business.

In this role, you will help drive the integration and implementation of the company’s NPD strategy and assist the commercialization process to meet regulatory and operational requirements for NPD, moving the business into new market segments. As part of the role, you are the technical data expert with the ability to help deliver projects from idea through to commercialisation. Keeping abreast of food trends, and innovation within the food industry to build knowledge for future and current product.

As the New Product Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in:

• Conduct research for the improvement of existing products and the development of new products within the Beef, Lamb and Value Added space, outlining procedures and specifications and ensuring ingredient functionality into the final products fits the purpose of the customer.
• Lead New Product Development (NPD) through all stages, from brief to commercialization.
• Project managing multiple projects simultaneously ensuring processing, labelling and specifications are correct.
• Drive and manage production implementation with multiple stakeholders and ensure they are kept on track
• Participate in product evaluation (sensory panel)
• Assist in the validation of new equipment
• Monitor daily product quality control and overseeing new product presentations
• Demonstrate success leading customer presentations
• Demonstrate success in converting category insights into innovative new products

You will also “bring to the table”:

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology or a related discipline preferred
• A quality and process improvement focus with a passion for food
• Analytical and investigation skills
• Professional Project management
• Relationship building with customers, both internal and external
• High level of competencies around value added production – primal cuts, mince, mix, season, tumble, inject and flavor
• Proactive approach to the development and management of value added products
• Min 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
• A strong internal and external customer focus
