This is a rare opportunity to step into one of Primo’s most critical national roles — managing our largest portfolio across Metcash and key National Multi Site Operators. 

 

As a key commercial leader within the Independent Retail channel, you’ll take ownership of a high value customer base, shape promotional and commercial strategy, and play a pivotal role in driving growth within one of our biggest categories.

 

You’ll join a high performing, supportive team and work closely with an experienced Customer Director who fosters autonomy, collaboration, and hands on coaching. This is a dynamic role perfect for an ambitious NAM ready to make a meaningful impact.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with Metcash and our National MSO trading partners
  • Own the Dairy portfolio strategy across Metcash & total Primo across key MSOs, ensuring best in class customer partnerships
  • Develop and execute promotional and market activation plans to customer key selling weeks and aligned JBP category strategies
  • Lead trade spend management, forecasting accuracy and pricing optimisation to deliver profitable growth
  • Partner cross functionally with Finance, Marketing, Category, Demand, and Field teams to drive execution excellence
  • Represent Primo at customer conferences and industry events

 

About You

You’re a commercially savvy National Account Manager who thrives in a fast paced FMCG environment and understands the unique dynamics of the Independent Retail channel. You bring a solutions mindset, strong stakeholder presence, and the ability to hit the ground running.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in FMCG account management.
  • Experience working with Metcash or Independent Retail (highly advantageous)
  • Strong promotional planning, negotiation, and commercial management capability
  • The ability to manage complex customer groups and multilayered relationships
  • A proactive, highly organised approach with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative team mindset
