Lead Livestock Operations at One of Australia's Largest Food Processing Facilities

 

JBS Australia is looking for an experienced and hands-on Livestock Supervisor to join our team in Brooklyn.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in livestock production, farming, feedlots, saleyards, transport or animal handling who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role.

You'll lead a small team responsible for livestock receival, animal welfare, traceability, yard operations and compliance, ensuring animals are cared for to the highest standard while supporting the efficient operation of one of Australia's largest beef and lamb processing sites.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and supervise livestock receival and yard operations
  • Coordinate livestock movements and allocations across the site
  • Ensure livestock welfare standards are maintained at all times
  • Monitor livestock identification, traceability and documentation requirements
  • Support compliance with customer, export and regulatory programs
  • Liaise with veterinarians and regulatory authorities as required
  • Coach and support livestock team members
  • Maintain safe and efficient livestock yard operations
  • Assist with audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

 

About You

We're interested in candidates who bring:

  • Livestock handling and animal welfare experience
  • Leadership or supervisory experience, or readiness to step into a leadership role
  • Experience working with cattle, sheep or other livestock operations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail and record-keeping capability
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to safety, animal welfare and compliance

 

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in meat processing, feedlots, saleyards or livestock transport
  • Knowledge of livestock traceability systems and export market requirements
  • Experience managing teams in agricultural or livestock environments
