About the Role

 

The JBS Pork Division is currently recruiting for a Livestock Buyer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.  Reporting to the General Manager of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for mapping and developing the company’s supplier network. The role can be based in Victoria or South Australia.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Map and understand the Livestock national footprint, farmers, locations, price structure, behaviour, and seasonality.
  • Develop close relationship with pig producers.
  • Manage long term contract and prices negotiations.
  • Explore short term / spot market opportunities.
  • Create and implement livestock strategy.
  • In alignment with Operations and SO&P team, develop strategies to best fulfill the production capacities and sales requirements.
  • Monitor and manage site-based Supplier Performance.

 

About You

 

The ideal candidate will have:           

  • Previous experience within livestock procurement is very desirable.
  • Strong demonstrable experience with strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, planning and forecasting.
  • Ability to articulate key metrics and root causes of performance to stakeholders.
  • Computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and overcome barriers to success.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly present technical concepts to non-technical groups.
  • Ability to identify, foster and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
  • Good conflict resolution skills with the ability to respond to a range of challenging behaviours.
  • Self-motivated, can ‘think on your feet’ and have a calming nature.
