About the Role
JBS Pork is currently recruiting for a Livestock Buyer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for mapping and developing the company’s supplier network.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Map and understand the Livestock national footprint, farmers, locations, price structure, behaviour, and seasonality.
- Develop close relationship with pig producers.
- Manage long term contract and prices negotiations.
- Explore short term / spot market opportunities.
- Create and implement livestock strategy.
- In alignment with Operations and SO&P team, develop strategies to best fulfill the production capacities and sales requirements.
- Monitor and manage site-based Supplier Performance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within livestock procurement is very desirable.
- Strong demonstrable experience with strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, planning and forecasting.
- Ability to articulate key metrics and root causes of performance to stakeholders.
- Computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and overcome barriers to success.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly present technical concepts to non-technical groups.
- Ability to identify, foster and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
- Good conflict resolution skills with the ability to respond to a range of challenging behaviours.
- Self-motivated, can ‘think on your feet’ and have a calming nature.
