About the Role

Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, the Injury Management Lead will play a critical role in leading injury management and workers compensation activities across the Brooklyn site. You will be responsible for coordinating rehabilitation and case management processes, with a focus on high-risk claims, while working collaboratively with Safety, HR, Risk, Return to Work and Operational teams to deliver effective injury management outcomes. This role is central to implementing our National Injury Management procedures, supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work programs, claims management, early intervention strategies and operational excellence across the business.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the coordination of rehabilitation and timely case management activities, prioritising high-risk injured and ill employee claims.
  • Manage workers compensation claims administration for the Brooklyn site and support the Southern Business Unit as required.
  • Support the delivery of National Injury Management procedures across rehabilitation, return-to-work, early intervention and claims management activities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Risk, Safety, HR, Injury Management and Operations to achieve positive injury management outcomes.
  • Provide accurate information and insights relating to claims performance, financial exposure, premium impacts and provisioning requirements.
  • Oversee third-party providers and insurers to ensure effective claims management and timely claim resolution.
  • Partner with the Return to Work Coordinator to support effective return-to-work programs and transitional work arrangements.
  • Champion contemporary injury management practices through the JBS We Care program.
  • Maintain compliance with workers compensation legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Identify risk exposure issues, maintain claims documentation and support audit and compliance activities.

 

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years' experience in workers compensation claims management.
  • Relevant qualifications in Business, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation, claims management practices and related medical and legal terminology.
  • Experience managing complex workers compensation claims and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong systems focus with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy across Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
