At JBS, safety and wellbeing are more than compliance—they’re a shared responsibility and a core value. We’re looking for an Injury & Workers Compensation Lead to join our team at the Brooklyn Plant. This is your opportunity to take ownership of workers compensation and injury management processes, ensuring timely case resolution and supporting the wellbeing of our people in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of rehabilitation and case management for injured or ill employees, prioritising high-risk claims.
  • Manage all workers compensation claims administration for the Brooklyn Plant and Southern Business Unit as required.
  • Implement JBS National Injury Management procedures with operational excellence, focusing on:
  • Rehabilitation & Return to Work (RTW)
  • Early Interventions
  • Injury Management
  • Claims Management & Reviews
  • Solve/Beakon Reporting
  • Provide accurate information to stakeholders on financial exposure, premiums, and provisioning requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Victorian workers compensation legislation and internal policies.
  • Partner with RTW Coordinator to deliver effective return-to-work programs and monitor adherence to work restrictions.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers, including insurers and auditors.
  • Champion the JBS “We Care” program promoting contemporary injury management practices.
  • Identify risk exposure issues and provide advice to reduce claims and improve processes.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • 10+ years’ experience in workers compensation claims management, primarily across Victorian jurisdiction (multi-jurisdictional experience advantageous).
  • Relevant qualifications in Business, Risk Management, or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of workers compensation laws, medical and legal terminology.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise, multi-task, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Calm and professional approach in challenging situations with a strong customer service focus.
  • Energetic, passionate, and enthusiastic with a focus on continuous improvement.
