About the Role
The JBS Pork Division is seeking a General Manager Supply Chain to join our team in Melbourne, VIC, on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of the Pork Division, you will be responsible for developing and implementing operational planning, inventory policies, forecasting methods, and performance reporting.
In this role, you will collaborate with sales and operations to deliver a sustainable competitive advantage for the company, customers, and suppliers. You will communicate the company's short, mid, and long-term forecasts, relevant factory capacities, and raw material and packaging requirements to the executive team and the business.
We are looking for a hands-on, values-driven leader to enhance planning strategies, meet customer requirements efficiently, and optimize resources.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure we meet or exceed customer requirements for quality, cost, innovation, and delivery.
- Provide leadership and superior people management through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Establish and maintain the business vision for success and continuously assess the best Supply Chain footprint.
- Actively collaborate with the leadership team in strategic decision-making and problem-solving.
- In collaboration with Supply, implement the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Provide ongoing development and succession planning of staff leaders to guide plant and support organizations.
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.
- Manage compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct Sales/Forecasting Reviews by Customer with the Sales team 1-2 times weekly.
- Review Weekly Promotions Updates.
- Review Weekly Forecast Accuracy and Actual Sales.
- Review Promotion volumes against forecast.
- Review Forecast Bias and Forecast Attainment.
- Establish Demand Plan.
- Reporting and Analysis for S&OP.
- Communicate potential issues to the Master Scheduler.
- Manage and lead the Supply Chain team across Planning, Purchasing, Warehousing, and 3PL.
- Manage supplier relationships and collaborate with key bottling, warehousing, and logistics providers.
- Oversee reporting, forecasting, and analysis management to ensure excellent DIFOT levels and forecast accuracy are maintained across raw materials and finished goods.
- Purchase raw materials from a varied supply base.
- Be a vital contributor to the NPD process in collaboration with sales and marketing.
- Focus on continuous improvement of processes and procedures across the Supply Chain.
- Perform other duties as directed.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain/materials management or other related field preferred.
- You will have 10-15 years of experience in a similar role in a multisite, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong role model and cultural leader that builds capabilities across all areas of responsibility.
- A solid understanding of Australian laws pertaining to the manufacture and production of food.
- Strong project management experience and results.
- Performance management.
- Good judgment and problem-solving ability, capable of understanding the impact of decision-making on the business.
