About the Role
We are currently recruiting an Export Officer to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. Based in the JBS Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the execution of export sea freight and air freight shipments.
Your key responsibilities:
- Building effective relationships with external stakeholders, through written and verbal liaison with shipping company personnel, transport companies, cold storage facilities and customers.
- Booking Cargo/Orders with relevant shipping lines or 3PLs.
- Complete all shipping documentation for the markets/vessels assigned to you, which may include:
- Prepare forwarding instructions and obtain original Bills of Lading.
- Obtain health certificate.
- Prepare invoices and packing lists.
- Prepare Certificates of Origin.
- Bank Drafts and Lodgements.
- Letters of Credit.
- Complete any other documents required due to customer or country requirements.
- Keep internal systems updated in regards to sales orders, invoices and releases.
- Monitor vessel ETD’s and prioritize workload.
- Allocation of orders to sites for packing in a timely manner.
- Understand current freight rates for your allocated markets.
- Assisting other team members to ensure orders are shipped within the permitted time.
- Email / fax completed documents to customers.
- Be involved in all aspects of freight operations for Pork Division.
- Keep to set KPI’s in relation to completion of documents and payment of invoices.

- Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill.
- Strong computer skills or the ability to rapidly acquire skills needed.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Working knowledge of WH&S, Quality Assurance, and People & Performance procedures.
- Ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
- Ability to maintain records and analyse data to produce accurate reports.
- Makes self fully available as required.
