About the Role
The JBS Pork Division is currently recruiting for an Engineer to join our team in Laverton, VIC, on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Group Engineering Manager – Pork Division, you will be supporting ongoing projects and assuming various responsibilities. This role offers ample opportunities for professional growth through training and coaching.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform day-to-day engineering tasks and support ongoing projects within the Pork Division.
- Troubleshoot existing programs/applications and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers, order spare parts, and manage inventory.
- Work independently and as part of a team on new and ongoing projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and generate engineering solutions.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a TAFE equivalent.
- Basic skills in at least one area outside your primary qualification.
- Ability to work unsupervised, manage projects, and support outcomes while being part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in technical English.
- A methodical approach to solving engineering problems and implementing solutions.
- Understanding of control systems from both hardware and software perspectives.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to other business sites.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Current Driver’s license.
Relevant experience on the areas below is preferred, but willingness to learn is highly valued:
- Drafting skills with knowledge of CAD technology (AutoCAD, Solidworks).
- PLC programming experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and understanding of PLC networks (Profibus, Profinet).
- SCADA/HMI software development (Ignition, Factory Talk, Movicon).
- Electrical drawing creation and updates (Eplan Electric P8).
- Understanding of VSD drives (Danfoss, Allen Bradley).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and steam boilers.
