JBS Australia’s Southern Division, headquartered in Melbourne, has the largest multi-species processing facility in Australia, processing beef, sheep, and goats. JBS Southern processing facilities have access to all major international markets, providing our livestock suppliers with a range of markets and brand opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Boning Beef Room Supervisor. Our Brooklyn Plant is a 5-day, multi-species operation with the capacity to process up to 1,400 head of cattle and 8,200 head of small stock per day.   

About the role

• Lead, co-ordinate and monitor boning room operations for assigned production area
• Understands and implement/enforce the requirements for each of the SOPs that are relevant to this department eg EU, halal, SA, FRL, BSE etc
• Ensure that all operatives are trained up as required otherwise direct necessary training to rectify
• Ensure all equipment is in a satisfactory state of use
• Carry out internal quality audits as directed by the FSQAM and ensure corrective action is taken when critical limits are exceeded
• Implement corrective action where processes do not conform to standards or limits prescribed in the FSQA Manuals
• Ensure carcass identification and correlation is maintained at all times during boning room procedures
• Oversee personal hygiene, preoperational and operational hygiene procedures as set down in SSOP’s
• Liaise with AQIS Inspection Staff in boning room
• Liaise with Boning Room Manager, FSQAM and FSQAO’s on all matters relation to FSAQ and training.

• Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Sound technical knowledge of meat processing
• Understand and comply with Workplace Health and Safety standard
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to communicate and work seamlessly with internal stakeholders
