Area Manager Foodservice

As our Area Manager – Foodservice, you’ll be responsible for driving profitable growth across Victoria and Tasmania by increasing volume and product range within existing Foodservice customers, while actively pursuing new opportunities with Foodservice end users. This is a hands‑on, customer‑focused role centred on disciplined territory execution, meaningful engagement with chefs and operators, effective customer activation and strong cross‑functional alignment.
Your work will directly support sustained growth across both regions and help strengthen Primo’s position within the broader Foodservice market.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Foodservice customers through a structured and consistent territory call cycle.
- Execute the Planned Call process in every outlet to maintain high and consistent service standards.
- Promote the full product portfolio and represent the company professionally in all customer interactions.
- Strengthen customer relationships through proactive engagement and solution‑focused service.
- Action customer complaints promptly to maintain service excellence.
- Reduce pricing issues through strong communication, process accuracy and follow‑through.
- Drive sales growth across the Foodservice portfolio by identifying opportunities to increase volume, range and penetration.
- Pursue new business opportunities with Foodservice end users, understanding their operational needs and value drivers.
- Support effective customer activation to maximise visibility, conversion and engagement.
- Complete execution tasks within agreed timeframes to ensure strong presence in market.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain and the National Contact Centre to share insights, resolve issues and align activities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, utilise data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and support decision‑making.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in FMCG, smallgoods manufacturing or distributor environments, ideally with Foodservice exposure.
- Strong customer‑facing sales skills, including negotiation, influencing and relationship‑building.
- Solid commercial acumen, including pricing, trade maths and the ability to interpret sales data.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of organisation, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with resilience and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
