Livestock Labourer Step-Up Leading Hand

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Livestock Labourer Step-Up Leading Hand to join our dynamic team based at our Longford Plant. This position will be paid as per the Longford Enterprise Agreement, working 38 hours per week and overtime as required.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Strong work ethic, with the capability to multitask and prioritise
• Display an understanding and be able to enforce the requirements for each of the SOP’s that are relevant to this department e.g. EU, Halal, SA, BSE, Animal Welfare etc.
• Maintain a positive relationship with employee’s
• Production Scheduling i.e. update kill sheets
• Handling Livestock

Criteria for selection include (but are not limited to):

• Proven Leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Organisational and planning skills
• Demonstrate commitment to meeting all requirements in relation to food safety and people Safety
• Previous experience working with livestock preferred
• Basic Computer skills and use of livestock data recording equipment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and practical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
