Our Northern division operates five beef processing plants across Queensland and Northern NSW, producing more than 400,000 tonnes of beef products every year. 

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.
 

About the Role

The JBS Riverina Plant is currently recruiting several Skilled Meat Workers to join our Processing team in a full-time capacity. As a Skilled Meat Worker, you will be passionate about your specialist skills and be committed to providing a professional service. You will be prepared to show leadership qualities and provide support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement. This opportunity is ideal for anyone wanting to develop their skills within an industry leading, global organisation.  

This position has the potential to earn $63,000 or more with additional allowances and/or overtime.

About You

• Previous experience (ideally 2+ years) in Boning, Slicing or Slaughtering/Sawing duties
• Relevant qualification (Cert 2/3 Meat processing) advantageous but not essential
• Knowledge and understanding of different rotations
• Proven high level of knife sharpening skills
• Knowledge and understanding of Quality Requirements
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work with supervisors on improving daily duties
