About Us

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot, and processing facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and complete all necessary activities to induct new cattle into the feedlot, including: weighing, administering animal treatments and conducting animal breed/type assessments
  • Completing paperwork and documentation associated with entry cattle
  • Cleaning of the feedlot receival holding pens
  • Assisting the broader team with livestock handling across the feedlot
  • Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Previous cattle handling skills would be favourable, however not essential as on-the-job training is provided
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
