About Us

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimizing stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

 

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator to join our Riverina Plant team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting workplace health and safety processes, rehabilitation, and return-to-work activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their health and safety experience within a large, dynamic organisation.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct and close out investigations for injuries, near misses, and hazards
  • Actively participate in WHS committee meetings and drive initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with the JBS Health and Safety Management System
  • Stay up to date with WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice
  • Participate in internal and external audits and implement required changes
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the site
  • Provide workplace rehabilitation in line with Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act
  • Liaise with medical providers, employees, and stakeholders regarding injuries
  • Communicate effectively with Workers Compensation Insurance and key external stakeholders

 

About You

  • Experience in an allied health background (advantageous)
  • Formal qualifications in WHS, RTW, or related discipline (advantageous)
  • Previous experience in injury management and/or workers compensation
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Adaptability to different environments and situations
  • Knowledge of manufacturing hazards, ideally in food production
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigations, and injury management
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong attention to detail
