Production Manager - PM Shift

About the Role:

We currently have a newly created position available as a Production Manager on afternoon shift at our Riverina plant. The Riverina plant is a 5-day operation which employs approximately 500 people and is a plant that processes approx. 600 head of beef daily.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Ensure maximum production and continued production of a high-quality product
• Ensure maximum yields are obtained
• Ensure all regulatory requirements are met regarding fresh beef production
• Monitor the chiller assessing of the previous day’s kill
• Ensure that training of personnel to specific positions to an expected degree of competency is achieved
• Monitor regularly for maintenance defects and issue maintenance requests
• Check and act on FSQA monitoring sheets ensuring that customer specifications and hygiene standards are met at all times
• Ensure the boning operations are carried out as per the guidelines of the AA and that those guidelines are understood by all Forepersons
• Liaise with Department of Agriculture personnel on matters regarding product and process hygiene ensuring corrective action is taken where appropriate.
• Ensure any new equipment installed has associated procedures which will ensure the efficient working of same
• Ensure a safe and healthy workplace is maintained and safe work practices are developed, implemented and maintained

About you:

• Management skills
• Substantial experience in the meat industry
• Good verbal & written communication abilities
• Understanding of quality assurance principles and HACCP
• Sound computer skills (MS Office)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Time management & reporting skills
