Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot, and processing facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality. Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role
The JBS Riverina Beef Feedlot is currently recruiting passionate Pen Riders and Cattle Handlers to join our hard-working team. 

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily livestock handling including pen riding and stock movements
  • Diagnosis of animal health symptoms
  • Administration of animal health treatments
  • Maintaining accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements
  • Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Proven horsemanship skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills

 

You will also have access to a minimum of two suitable horses and own tack/saddlery.

 

All horses must be vaccinated for Hendra virus prior to entry at all JBS sites. Proof of vaccination details will be required prior to offer/commencement of employment.
