Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Beef plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

 

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 people with a current processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

About the Role

Our JBS Riverina Plant is currently recruiting an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our Plant Engineering team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, this position will require an enthusiastic and driven individual with a hands-on approach and a solutions driven outlook, utilising sound maintenance principles.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and controlling all ongoing maintenance and capital works planning
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating all shut downs
  • Ensuring all requested and scheduled tasks are investigated, planned, executed and completed on time and budget
  • Preparing and ordering necessary spare parts and materials for planned tasks
  • Monitoring spare parts holdings and availability of critical spares
  • Scheduling and tracking maintenance policy work orders
  • Initiating plant wide mechanical and electrical installation compliance and testing
  • Ensuring all schematics are retained, updated and maintained as required
  • Providing information for reporting on maintenance management
  • Producing actions to fix root cause and prevent failures from reoccurring
  • Increasing accuracy and detail of job orders
  • Providing maintenance strategies for optimum performance

 

About You

  • Advanced electrical or mechanical trade
  • Post-trade qualifications or a degree/diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering advantageous
  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance planning role
  • Proven preventative planning experience
  • Sound technical understanding to streamline operations
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate employees
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of work planning and scheduling procedures
  • Sound knowledge and experience with electronic materials management systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
