Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot, and processing facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

 

About the Role

The JBS Riverina Feedlot is currently recruiting for a motivated, dedicated Maintenance Fitter to join our highly experienced Feedlot Maintenance team.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Breakdown diagnosis & subsequent repairs to grain mill, grain receival, various heavy plant and general feedlot equipment/structures
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance programs
  • General feedlot maintenance tasks as required, including routine parts ordering, stock control and stocktaking
  • Updating of maintenance records and jobs sheets
  • Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare and Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Relevant trade qualifications and demonstrated suitable experience
  • Maintenance experience with grain milling, grain handling and a variety of machinery and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
  • A high level of initiative, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Accredited Confined Space and Working at Heights Certificate desirable (but not essential)
  • A high level of commitment to Safety and Quality
