Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Beef plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.
Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 people with a current processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.
About the Role
Our Riverina Plant currently has an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Maintenance Fitter will ensure the availability, reliability and capability of plant assets in a beef processing environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Engaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
- Ensuring all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
- Other ad hoc duties including relevant projects
This is a full-time position with the potential to earn over $70,000 with additional allowances and/or overtime.
A $10,000 Sign-On bonus is available to applicable candidates. *Conditions apply.
About You
- Fitter and Turner trade qualifications and post-trade experience (ideally a minimum of 2 years)
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Previous experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
- A thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
- Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
- Sound computer skills
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
- Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired
- Ability to work shift work including rotating roster, day and afternoon shift
