Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot, and processing facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

 

About the Role

The JBS Riverina Feedlot is currently recruiting for a highly motivated, experienced self-starter to join the dedicated livestock team in this leadership role.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the management of all aspects of Induction, Animal Health and Dispatch functions including team performance
  • Overseeing daily livestock handling, animal health treatments, pen riding, cattle induction and dispatch including coordination of drafting/weighing of cattle in accordance with JBS specifications
  • Team management, engagement, development and training in a positive and proactive manner
  • Completing paperwork including NVD’s, NFAS delivery dockets and weighbridge dockets
  • Ensuring team compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Previous experience managing and coordinating Induction, Animal Health and/or Dispatch functions
  • Previous experience managing and leading teams with a focus on continual improvements
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
  • Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills, high levels of self-motivation                and strong planning capabilities and initiative
  • Proven Supervisory/ Leaderships skills and experience
