Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot, and processing facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality.

 

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role

Due to a recent internal development opportunity, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced Livestock Operations Foreperson to join our team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Livestock Supervisor, this role is ideal for anyone with existing Livestock or Feedlot supervisory experience looking to further develop their leadership skills and experience.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Livestock Supervisor and coordinating the Induction team
  • Assisting with all aspects of the cattle induction process including the coordination of drafting/weighing of cattle in accordance with JBS specifications
  • Preparing incoming cattle paperwork including maintaining quality assurance and generating invoices for payment
  • Completing required paperwork for all exiting cattle
  • Inventory management including calibration, auditing and stocktake
  • Team engagement, development and training in a positive and proactive manner
  • Ensuring team compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Previous Livestock handling and/or Feedlot experience
  • Previous experience managing and coordinating teams and the associated performance of these teams
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
  • Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills
  • High levels of self-motivation
  • Strong organisation and planning capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
