Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Beef plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

 

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 people with a current processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

 

About the Role

Our high-volume Riverina Plant is currently recruiting an experienced Livestock Clerk to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Production Control & Planning (PCP) Controller, the primary purpose of this role is to support the Livestock team with general Accounts Payable and administrative functions.  

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up kill sheets; organising penning and production order with stockmen
  • Liaising with the feedlot to organise daily cattle movements
  • Completing reporting and updating the database daily
  • Updating vendors with production numbers and weights
  • Finalising cattle and freight invoices, working with the feedlot team to balance numbers
  • Costing reports for accounts including daily, weekly, monthly and yearly
  • Weekly and monthly production stats
  • Ensuring compliance, visual verification and documentation are all completed
  • Completing the EU documentation and separation processes
  • Ensuring traceability of all cattle via tags
  • Liaising with saleyards and buyers
  • Creating bookings for cattle and agendas in Sastek for the grading station
  • Checking all grading is correct each day
  • Labelling printing for PCP related production
  • Setting up new specification and amendments notifications

 

About You

  • Basic livestock and/or beef industry experience advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Basic to Intermediate computer skills Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated analytical abilities
  • Ability to organise a busy workload and set priorities to meet conflicting deadlines
  • High level of initiative
