About Us

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimizing stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

About the Role

Our Riverina Plant is seeking a passionate Quality Assurance Officer to join our FSQA team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you’ll ensure our products consistently meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and driving compliance with food safety systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting pre-operational hygiene assessments of the Plant
• Performing daily checks to ensure all customer specifications and regulatory requirements are consistently met across production
• Participating in internal audits when required
• Reporting any inadequacy in approved programs or processing procedures to the FSQA Manager
• Undertaking any other relevant activities as directed

About You

• Current Attainment of Ausmeat Accreditation advantageous
• Industry experience in FSQA practices advantageous
• Good understanding of quality assurance principles and HACCP
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Sound computer and MS Office skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Sound auditing skills
