Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Quality Assurance Officer In Charge to join our team at the Riverina Plant. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic organisation and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify daily monitoring records and documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Participate in internal audits as required.
  • Identify and report any deficiencies in approved programs or processing procedures to FSQA Management.
  • Coordinate and participate in customer, regulatory, and AQIS audits.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry tasks.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems.
  • Undertake other duties as directed to support the FSQA function.

Selection Criteria

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse, and communicate results in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of company specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • AUS-MEAT accreditation.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of Quality Assurance systems and HACCP principles.
  • Ability to identify critical control points and key production risks.
  • Internal auditing qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of Harvest Floor, Boning Room, and Cold Store operations will be advantageous.
