About Us

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimizing stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

 

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

About the Role

Our Riverina Plant is seeking an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join the team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, this role will plan and coordinate maintenance activities to support production targets. The successful candidate will be proactive, solutions-focused, and hands-on, applying sound maintenance principles to drive reliability and efficiency.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and controlling all ongoing maintenance and capital works planning
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating Plant shut downs
  • Ensuring all requested and scheduled tasks are investigated, planned, executed and completed on time and on budget
  • Preparing and ordering necessary spare parts and materials for planned tasks
  • Monitoring spare parts holdings and managing availability of critical spares
  • Scheduling and tracking maintenance policy work orders
  • Initiating plant wide mechanical and electrical installation compliance and testing
  • Ensuring all schematics are retained, updated and maintained as needed
  • Providing information for reporting on maintenance management
  • Producing actions to fix root cause and prevent failures from reoccurring

 

About You

  • Advanced electrical or mechanical trade and post-trade qualifications or a degree/diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
  • Proven preventative planning experience
  • Technical understanding to streamline operations
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate employees
  • Knowledge of work planning and scheduling procedures
  • Sound knowledge and experience with electronic materials management systems (SAP)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
