Manages the movement of livestock, hides, and finished products. JBS Carriers, the transportation arm of JBS Australia, supports JBS operations through an efficient logistical structure that optimises everything from the transportation of cattle to finished products and export containers. The fleet operates under NHVAS accreditation and includes 29 prime movers and 75 trailers that travel a combined seven million kilometres per year.

About the role:  

The role exists for a highly experienced and capable logistics professional to join JBS’s head office team, conveniently located at Riverview. You’ll work autonomously to allocate fridge van movements and containers.  The successful applicant will be an individual who is prepared to show leadership qualities and provide support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement, support to management to ensure a safe and smooth running of the daily business requirements.


Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Promote a safe, positive work environment and maintain alignment with company policies.
  • Ensuring key service objectives and KPI’s are met.
  • Utilise company assets and contractors in a cost-effective manner.
  • Manage customer relations.
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are met.


About you:

  • Sound knowledge of transport systems including 1-stop and container chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Transport Regulations including Fatigue, Chain of Responsibility and Mass and Maintenance under NHVR.
  • Current Drivers Licence (HC, MC Preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement.
  • Flexible to take calls as required on the weekend.


Must have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport or logistics, wharf cartage and Refrigerated Freight movements and allocations.
  • Experience to coordinate, communicate and administration of a fleet of vehicles/containers/trucks that operate to and from the Brisbane Port and Port Melbourne as well as interstate and local Ridge van movements.
