About the Role:

JBS Australia’s Northern operations is over $3 billion-dollar business, with a diversified portfolio of beef operations and over 4000 employees across Queensland and Northern NSW, with exciting plans for continued growth.  

The General Manager Finance is a key member of the JBS Northern senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer for the region.  More than just operational accounting, this pivotal role will provide strategic financial support and draw on your depth of experience in high-revenue businesses to propel the region’s performance to new heights.

You will be responsible for leading the Northern Operations Finance team, driving improvements in commercial efficiencies and financial processes. This unique opportunity is part of the broader finance cohort in JBS Australia and the JBS global team. 


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Partner with the COO and Northern leadership team to provide value-adding advice to inform strategic decisions
  • Lead the Northern finance Team, providing direction, development and coaching to support business unit and functional objectives
  • Perform feasibility analysis of all proposed major projects and significant financial spend and be part of the decision-making process
  • Prepare and manage Northern division budgeting and forecasting within deadlines and defined KPIs 
  • Be a business partner to the Buy, Make & Sell, providing support and challenging on all matters relating to the business performance and financial processes
  • Support the processing and feedlot sites with managing Sox compliance


About you:

The scale, complexity, and growth of the business, requires a highly capable, strategic advisor and senior leader with a depth of experience in a large business.  CA/CPA qualified, you will have a proven ability to streamline processes, constructively challenge thinking, and effectively engage stakeholders.  With exceptional interpersonal skills, you will be an authentic people leader, focused on coaching others and supporting their performance and success.
