About the Role

JBS Australia is currently recruiting an experienced and pragmatic People & Culture Business Partner to join the Northern Operations division in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Northern Ops HR Manager, this role is primarily based at Riverview (Ipswich) but will require regular travel within Queensland and New South Wales.

 

The primary objective of the People & Culture BP role is to partner with the Northern operational business to provide generalist HR services which support business objectives, a high-performance culture, and employee engagement. These services include recruitment and selection support, performance management advice, management of investigations, supporting the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and relevant strategic HR initiatives.

 

The role will partner with the Northern head office team, our Hemmant Cold Stores, and our five processing plants and five feedlots across Queensland and New South Wales.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the direct HR point of contact for the Northern head office across the full employee lifecycle
  • Acting as the HR point of escalation to support and guide our site based HR teams
  • Supporting the implementation of Group and/or Northern strategic HR initiatives
  • Creating and managing the end to end recruitment for Northern head office roles
  • Assisting with the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures, guidelines, and templates
  • Supporting talent and succession activities, including 360 and 9 box processes and calibration sessions
  • Processing employee variations and other employee data changes through SAP
  • Leading workplace investigations and performance management processes
  • Identifying and implementing improvements and efficient ways of working
  • Leading, developing and coaching teams
  • Providing advice and supporting employee engagement activities
  • Supporting a positive industrial relations environment
  • Collating, analysing and providing recommendations based on HR data (e.g. turnover, absenteeism and workers’ compensation)
  • Developing communications, announcements and presentations as required

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related discipline
  • Previous experience in a similar HR generalist or HR Business Partner role
  • Previous experience in FMCG and/or other relevant industry preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in managing varied and conflicting demands
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, while also being a collaborative team member
  • Highly proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
