About the Role

Due to ongoing growth of JBS Australia, we are currently seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to join the Northern Operations HR team in a newly created position. Reporting to the GM HR – Northern, and working closely with the Group P&C Team, the L&D Manager will focus on providing competency development, delivery and implementation of training content that will enhance the skills, knowledge, and effectiveness of the Northern workforce. The L&D Manager will ensure that engaging learning responsibilities are leveraged using a range of delivery methods and learning solutions to develop our Northern teams.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the creation and implementating of the Northern learning and development strategy including both leadership development and technical training
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. site leaders, workplace trainers, FSQA and WHS)
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to conduct training needs analysis
  • Coordinating the corporate leadership programs for Northern leaders and ensuring the effective development of our frontline leaders
  • Reviewing and updating site induction and training programs to achieve consistent and engaging learning experiences
  • Centralising and consolidating Northern task descriptions in line with Group guidelines and approval processes
  • Ensuring training outputs align with Group training systems and strategic objectives
  • Overseeing the Graduate and Cadet Programs, ensuring each graduate completes a program composed of varying rotations with successful mentoring and support mechanisms
  • Measuring and reporting on the impact of L&D objectives and initiatives, using data to inform future strategies and continuously improving our learning offerings
  • Collaborating with sites and Group to ensure efficient and accurate use of the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Ensuring sites are maintaining accurate employee training records, including items delivered by external providers
  • Supporting sites and Group with the development, maintenance and usage of site-based skills matrix
  • Supporting site leadership teams with the creation and implementation of employee development plans that comprise of both internal and external development opportunities
  • Creating or outsourcing learning materials as required (e.g. e-learning content)
  • Overseeing the Northern Traineeship and Apprenticeship programs
  • Travelling to the Northern processing plants, feedlots and cold stores across Queensland and New South Wales to support L&D initiatives

 

About You

  • Previous experience in a similar L&D leadership role
  • Previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment / large scale business highly desireable 
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing impactful L&D programs and initiatives for leaders and front line team members
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of delivering compelling learning experiences and influencing stakeholders
  • Experience in leading the design of content for blended learning programs – e-learning, videos, instructor led, mentoring etc.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability in the use of the MS Office suite and ability to adapt to other platforms as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing team environment
