The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.

 

About the Role

Due to the ongoing growth of the Dinmore Plant, we are currently recruiting a Fabrication (Boning Room) Supervisor to join our team in a newly created position.

 

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining all necessary relationships to ensure maximum production and continued production of a high-quality product
  • Ensuring all regulatory requirements are met regarding fresh beef production
  • Ensuring teams are adequately manned to meet the daily production requirements
  • Ensuring all team members meet the competency requirements to carry out the tasks allotted to them
  • Ensuring all employees are supervised and managed in a manner in line with company values and the employee handbook including code of conduct
  • Monitoring departmental Leads regarding knowledge of current chemical leans, cutting lines, and packaging, having ensured that the scales are tested physically daily
  • Ensuring the boning operations are carried out as per the guidelines of the AA and that those guidelines are understood by all Leads
  • Ensuring pre-operational hygiene inspection defects as highlighted by the Lead’s inspection, are corrected prior to start
  • Checking the Leads understanding of special procedures or operations and the need to implement when occasion arises
  • Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace is maintained and safe work practices are developed, implemented and maintained
  • Coordinating OH&S training programs for Leads and employees, ensuring all are familiar with acceptable rules
  • Completing all required departmental management production report in a timely manner

 

About You

  • Previous experience in the meat industry essential
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership position highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstratable problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
