Located 45km north-west of Griffith in southern New South Wales, JBS Australia’s Prime City Feedlot is a 35,000 head capacity feedlot and a major supplier to the JBS Riverina Beef processing facility at Yanco. Employing approximately 35 team members, Prime City Feedlot has a strong reputation for producing premium quality grain-fed beef.

The 6,225 ha of dryland and irrigation farm onsite at Prime City supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role

The JBS Prime City Feedlot is currently recruiting for a highly motivated, experienced self-starter to join our dedicated and experienced Livestock team.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily livestock handling including pen riding and stock movements
  • Diagnosis of animal health symptoms
  • Administration of animal health treatments
  • Maintaining accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements
  • Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Proven horsemanship skills
  • Communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills

 

Requirements

  • Access to a minimum of two suitable horses and own tack/saddlery
  • All horses must be vaccinated for Hendra virus prior to entry to all JBS sites
