About the Role

JBS Australia is currently seeking an experienced Livestock Supervisor to join our Dinmore operations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our livestock yards and leading a dedicated team of stockpersons. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant movement of livestock through the facility, while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, workplace safety, traceability and operational performance.

 

Working closely with production and livestock teams, you will coordinate all aspects of livestock handling, including cattle receivals, yard movements, drafting, penning and dispatch activities. As a leader on site, you will provide coaching, guidance and support to your team, fostering a positive culture built on safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

 

Success in this role will require a strong commitment to animal welfare and compliance, ensuring all livestock are handled professionally and in accordance with company policies, industry best practice and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate livestock records to support traceability obligations, monitoring the presentation and upkeep of yard facilities and equipment and ensuring workplace health and safety, quality assurance, environmental and HR standards are consistently met.

 

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in livestock handling and stockyard operations advantageous
  • Proven horsemanship skills
  • Ability to supply and maintain your own horses and associated equipment (saddle, bridle, etc.)
  • Previous leadership, supervisory or team-leading experience
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare and low-stress stock handling practices
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Flexibility to participate in a rotating roster
  • Experience with livestock traceability systems and record management
  • Ability and willingness to learn and drive continuous improvement initiatives

 

Please note: You will be required to supply and maintain a minimum of two horses and associated equipment (saddle, bridle, etc.)
