The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.

 

About the Role

JBS Dinmore is currently recruiting a Laboratory Technician (night shift) to join the team in a full-time position. The Lab Technician's primary responsibility will be to complete bio-chemical/microbiological testing of food and water samples as well as liaising with Departmental Supervisors and FSQA officers to ensure samples for testing are collected in accordance to an agreed sampling plan.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a laboratory and its procedures according to NATA requirements
  • Carrying out routine microbiological analysis of meat, meat products and waste water
  • Reference culture management
  • Completing media preparation and quality control
  • Interpreting and reporting test results
  • Maintaining the integrity of sample testing and reporting
  • Proactively assisting the Supervisors/Forepersons in correcting problems relating to microbiological results

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Microbiology or Applied Science with a major in Microbiology (preference will be given to applicants with molecular technique)
  • Experience with Pipette Calibration, Incubator Validation and Balance Checks
  • Experience with STEC/ Salmonella testing with GDS/ BAX / VIDAS
  • Experience with basic microbiological techniques
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Access to reliable transport
  • Willingness to work across different shifts as well as the flexibility to work over the weekends to cover annual/sick leave
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
