The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.
About the Role
Due to the ongoing growth of the Dinmore Plant, we are currently recruiting a Harvest Floor (Kill Floor) Lead to join our night shift team in a newly created, full-time position. Reporting to the KF Supervisor, the Harvest Floor Lead is responsible for producing a quality product which meets all customer requirements, whilst also meeting all other regulatory criteria. They will also be accountable for instilling a work ethic focused on Food Safety, Quality of Product, Safety and pride of workmanship and teamwork.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising, directing, coordinating and monitoring the slaughter, dressing and processing of carcasses, including offal collection
- Understanding and implementing/enforcing the requirements for each of the SOP’s (e.g. EU, Halal, SA, FRL, BSE, Animal Welfare etc.)
- Ensuring carcass identification and correlation is maintained at all times during slaughter floor procedures
- Maintaining the daily running of the FSQA system on the slaughter floor
- Completing manning sheets to ensure the correct payments are made to all employees, as well as handling pay queries as required for the team
- Ensuring all operatives are trained as required or otherwise directing necessary training to rectify
- Ensuring production and quality targets are met
- Liaising with AQIS Inspection Staff on slaughter floor, FSQAM and FSQAO’s on all matters relating to FSQA and training
- Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace is maintained and safe work practices are developed, implemented and maintained
- Supervising and managing all employees in a manner in line with company values and the employee handbook including code of conduct
About You
- Previous experience in the meat industry essential
- Available to work night shifts - approx. 3.00pm to 2.00am
- Previous experience in a similar leadership position highly regarded
- Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstratable problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
- Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
