About the Role

Due to the ongoing growth of the Dinmore Plant, we are currently recruiting a Harvest Supervisor (Kill Floor) to join our team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Harvest Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for producing a quality product which meets all customer requirements, whilst also meeting all other regulatory criteria. They will also be accountable for instilling a work ethic focused on Food Safety, Quality of Product, Safety and pride of workmanship and teamwork.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising, directing, coordinating and monitoring the slaughter, dressing and processing of carcasses, including offal collection
  • Understanding and implementing/enforcing the requirements for each of the SOP’s (e.g. EU, Halal, SA, FRL, BSE, Animal Welfare etc.)
  • Ensuring carcass identification and correlation is maintained at all times during slaughter floor procedures
  • Maintaining the daily running of the FSQA system on the slaughter floor
  • Completing manning sheets to ensure the correct payments are made to all employees, as well as handling pay queries as required for the team
  • Ensuring all operatives are trained as required or otherwise directing necessary training to rectify
  • Ensuring production and quality targets are met
  • Liaising with AQIS Inspection Staff on slaughter floor, FSQAM and FSQAO’s on all matters relating to FSQA and training
  • Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace is maintained and safe work practices are developed, implemented and maintained
  • Supervising and managing all employees in a manner in line with company values and the employee handbook including code of conduct

About You

  • Previous experience in the meat industry essential
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership position highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstratable problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
