The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in southeast Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 2,300 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is a senior operational leadership position responsible for the overall performance of the Harvest department on night shift. You will lead supervisors and large production teams to deliver operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards in safety, animal welfare, compliance and product quality.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage all Harvest (Kill Floor) operations on night shift
- Drive a proactive safety culture and ensure WHS compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to animal welfare and regulatory standards
- Deliver daily production targets, yields and cost control outcomes
- Manage and develop Supervisors and leading hands
- Oversee labour planning and workforce capability
- Partner with QA, Maintenance and Senior Leadership teams
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the department
- Manage performance, training and succession planning
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing harvest/kill floor operations in a high-volume meat processing environment
- Strong leadership experience managing leaders and large teams
- In-depth knowledge of animal welfare and compliance requirements
- Experience driving KPIs including throughput, yield and labour efficiency
- Strong decision-making capability in a fast-paced production environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Availability to work night shift roster
