The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.
About the Role
JBS Dinmore is on the lookout for a commercially astute Finance Business Partner to join our team supporting the Dinmore processing plant. Reporting to the Northern Financial Controller, and leading a small operations focused finance team, this is a high-impact role at the heart of our operations.
As the key finance partner on site, you will work closely with the Plant Manager and leadership team to drive financial performance, improve operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making. You’ll go beyond the numbers, providing insights, challenging thinking and helping shape the future performance of the site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide clear, actionable financial insights and recommendations
- Challenge and support leaders to improve performance, efficiency and profitability
- Lead all site financial reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Deliver variance analysis, cost of production and yield insights
- Present financial results and insights to operational and corporate stakeholders
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting cycles
- Partner with operations to ensure forecasts reflect operational drivers
- Identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies
- Monitor key cost drivers including labour, overheads, and processing costs
- Evaluate improvement initiatives and capital projects financially
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities with operations
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance
- Support audits (internal, external, SOX compliance)
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards
- Ensure integrity of financial data within SAP and related systems
- Drive improvements in reporting, systems and data visibility
- Support teams in understanding financial data and systems
About You
You’re a confident finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and enjoys influencing outcomes beyond the numbers. You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Strong financial and management accounting capability
- Experience in manufacturing, processing, or industrial environments (highly desirable)
- Solid understanding of cost accounting and operational drivers
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S4 HANA preferred)
- Strong commercial acumen and a proactive mindset
- The ability to influence and partner effectively with non-financial stakeholders
- Confidence to challenge constructively while building strong relationships
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- A curiosity for innovation, including comfort adopting AI and emerging technologies
Please note: Due to the operational nature of this role, this position is required to be based onsite full-time. Remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available.
