Located in Ipswich in Southeast Queensland, the JBS Dinmore Plant is the largest beef processing facility in the southern hemisphere. The plant employs approximately 2,000 team members with a processing capacity of 3,000 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

 

Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.

 

About the Role

JBS Dinmore is currently recruiting an experienced Facilities Manager to join the leadership team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is ideal for anyone that is wanting to further develop their leaderships skills and join an organisation that is leading the way in the meat industry. Your key responsibilities will include:

 

Maintenance Management -

  • Managing the short and long-term maintenance activities of building infrastructure and ancillary services
  • Managing day shift support team performing long-term equipment overhauls, projects and process tool maintenance
  • Coordinating 1st and 2nd year apprentices
  • Overseeing the Boiler and Refrigeration operators to ensure a safe and efficient operation
  • Continuous monitoring and maintenance of the extensive ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems
  • Managing the fire systems to ensure operation and maintenance meet the plants statutory compliance
  • Liaising with the Maintenance Planner to ensure boiler and refrigeration equipment are registered and serviced as per Australian standards
  • Developing and implementing appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure buildings, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe and efficient manner
  • Providing direction, advice and assistance to the maintenance and production staff in engineering and maintenance related issues
  • Ensuring maintenance manning levels meet plant requirements
  • Monitoring and responding to maintenance workforce capability needs
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient use of contractor and suppliers

 

Continuous Improvement -

  • Developing and implementing shutdown plans in conjunction with the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Planner
  • Taking a proactive approach in understanding the root causes of downtime, energy and water usages and designing and proposing solutions to eliminate those causes
  • Proactively analysing maintenance and sustainability information to identify weaknesses in equipment and/or maintenance strategies to eliminate waste, significant or repetitive breakdowns
  • Preparing and submitting minor capital applications
  • Developing and implementing a positive culture of safe operating procedures and practices

 

Communication -

  • Accurately communicating with plant management and production personnel
  • Ensuring accurate and frequent communication with the Plant Engineer & maintenance team

 

About You

  • Mechanical/Electrical Trade qualifications
  • Experience working with refrigeration and boilers advantageous
  • Experience in maintenance supervision or management
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable
  • Ability to plan organise and control project and maintenance activities to optimise the use of available resources
  • Sound knowledge of OH&S regulations
  • Must have Australian working rights
