The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in southeast Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.
About the Role
JBS Dinmore is currently recruiting a By-Products / Rendering Supervisor to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will organise labour to carry out the daily functions of the Rendering Department, and ensure the use of rendering equipment to process animal by-product materials for the production of tallow, grease, blood meal, and high-protein bone meal.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Organising transport and follow up sales for maximum utilisation of existing storage facilities
- Monitoring procedures within the Plant to ensure maximum recovery of by-products is achieved
- Completing and utilising employee performance reports for the control of labour
- Reading and signing all relevant AA and ‘IL’ recording forms on a daily basis noting corrective actions where appropriate
- Recording and supplying information to the payroll office of daily manning levels and overtime worked
- Reporting and following up on any maintenance requirements to keep the rendering plant in efficient operating condition
- Maintaining a hygienic standard in the work environment which ensures criteria for product safety is met
About You
- Previous experience in the meat industry essential
- Previous experience in a leadership position highly regarded including
- Experience with training team members
- Ability to implement changes as required to ensure a department is functioning efficiently and economically
- Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstratable problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
- Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
