About the Role
The JBS Pork Division is currently recruiting for a Safety Officer to join our farming projects team in Corowa, NSW, on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for Work Health Safety (WHS) across construction sites within the farming division as well as incident investigation and tracking of corrective actions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure employees and contractors comply with WHS regulations and legislation with the support of the site manager.
- Monitor contractor compliance and action any non-compliance.
- Control and maintain the safety data base for all documentation required for construction site.
- Monitor and review Beakon to ensure all incidents are recorded, investigated, and closed out.
- Support leaders to complete incident investigations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Implement new WHS processes and procedures (as required).
- Provide support to the Safety Operations Manager in the development and implementation of the WHS Management System.
- Assess hazards and develop recommendations to control or eliminate.
- Identify WHS training needs and work with the Training Coordinator to rectify.
- Ensure business legislative compliance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Certificate IV in OHS and/or relevant industry experience.
- Sound understanding of WHS Legislation, Management Systems, Regulations, and Code of Practice.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and drive change.
- Sound understanding of incident investigation processes and ICAM training (preferred).
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
- Sound investigative and analysis skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- An ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Willingness to travel.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Current drivers’ licence.
