About the Role
JBS Pork Australia – Farming Team are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Worker to support the team at our Contract sites.
This fulltime role is based in our Riverina Division and reports to the Riverina Contracting Supervisor. This position is responsible for undergoing preventative & breakdown maintenance activities across JBS Pork Australia contract farming sites to ensure reliability. This role is diverse in nature and when not providing maintenance support you will be an integral part of the contract pig farming team undertaking routine activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment and site facilities.
- Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs to equipment and site facilities.
- Undertake general plumbing, and welding tasks.
- Plan daily work routines, jobs, and project work.
- Organise tools and equipment to perform tasks.
- Conduct and review JSEAs prior to commencing works.
- Safely and efficiently operate a JCB front end loader to move, load and unload in tight spaces.
- Provide animal husbandry duties that require considerable judgement.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working with animals (preferred but not essential)
- Sound mechanical knowledge.
- A demonstrated ability to perform general equipment maintenance and repair.
- A working knowledge of maintenance procedures.
- Basic understanding of pig farming practices gained through practical experience.
- Sound understanding of WH&S and Quality Assurance principles within the Agricultural sector.
- Working knowledge of animal husbandry duties and requirements.
- Strong level communication skills, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to critically analyse situations and implement effective solutions.
- Willingness to work remote, flexible hours and weekends.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- A current drivers licence.
- Proficiency in operating JCB front end loader.
