About the role

The JBS Pork Division in currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Corowa, NSW, on a permanent full-time capacity.  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be working closely with the operational team at the Corowa meat processing plant. 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general plant operation maintenance including general fitting, machining and metal fabrication.
• Perform on-site maintenance, equipment installation and breakdown repairs.
• Plan daily work routines, jobs and project work in accordance with Company needs and priorities.
• Organise tools, equipment and materials to perform the job.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and proper working condition.
• Provide technical input on engineering improvements to production systems and facilities.
• Supervise and assist in the training of other employees / apprentices.
• Contribute to key business activities as required.
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, processes and work instructions at all times.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Responsibilities

• Perform duties in an ethical, lawful and safe manner.
• Adhere to WHS obligations and Company WHS policies and procedures.
• Ensure all incidents, hazards, risks, breaches and complaints are actioned in line with Company procedures.
• Ensure all personnel under your leadership (if applicable) are aware of their roles and responsibilities in accordance with the Company WHS Management System.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant trade qualifications.
• Boiler attendance licence highly regarded but not essential.
• Sound understanding of mechanical maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated ability in fitting, machining or general equipment maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge of maintenance procedures.
• Sound communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
