About the Role
The JBS Pork Division is currently recruiting a Livestock Driver to support the transfer and deliver of our internal farm pigs to our Corowa Meat Processing facility. This is a casual position based at our Corowa farm.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operate Heavy Combination Vehicle
- Comply with all Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Complete pre-starts checks
- Present to work in a condition that is fit to perform required tasks
- Report all vehicle faults to the Manager
- Report all Incidents/Injuries as required
- Adhere to Rivalea Australia Animal Welfare requirements (Including - Monitoring animals during transit and that animals are fit to load)
- Adhere to Rivalea Australia Biosecurity requirements
- Load and unload live pigs on trucks
- Safe and efficient delivery of live pigs to Farm Modules and Meat Processing
- Ensure accurate records for compliance and productivity information such as; logbooks, run sheets, delivery details
- Reporting faults or damaged equipment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Wash and clean truck
- Use company weighbridge systems to weigh heavy vehicles
- High standard of communication and behaviour in accord to Company Values
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions at all times.
- Perform other duties as directed.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Current driver’s licence
- Heavy Combination licence
- Previous experience driving trucks
- Sound traffic history report
- Provide due care and handle animals safely & humanely
- Prepare equipment (when used) for handling animals
- Monitor animal behaviour and recognise irregularities
- Calculate animal numbers
- Previous knowledge working with animals (Pigs)
