About the Role

 

JBS Pork Australia are currently recruiting an Assistant Manager - Breeder, to support functional operations of the breeder team on a fixed term basis for 24 months based at our Corowa site.

This position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of breeder operations, as well as achieving production targets.

Your key responsiblities will include:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day tasks of Piggery Employees.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and achieve production targets within those parameters.
  • Plan and integrate maintenance works within production requirements.
  • Compile and interpret production records.
  • Assist in recruiting new employees.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Maintain the site in a safe and productive state.
  • Provide sound technical advice to employees, peers, and management.
  • Provide regular progress and production reports.
  • Implement supervisor responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Ensure staff are fully trained in all safety requirements of their roles.
  • Always maintain and adhere to the Quality Assurance system.
  • Ensure environmental management obligations are met.
  • Ensure a high quality of Animal Welfare is adhered to by all staff.
  • Liaise with other departments for the improvement of policies and procedures
  • Assume the responsibility of the Site Manager in his / her absence.
     
  • Ensure annual objectives are regularly reviewed and met.
     
  • Contribute to key business activities as required.
     
  • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions at all times, and ensure all appropriate actions are taken to Implement and monitor at a site level.
     
  • Perform other duties as directed

 

About you

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifictions and skills:

 

  • Demonstrated understanding of pig production gained through practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise people effectively.
  • Working knowledge of WHS, Quality Assurance, and People & Culture policies and procedures.
  • High level communication skills, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Current driver’s licence.
