Strategically located on the Liverpool Plains, 35km west of Quirindi, north west NSW, JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot employs approximately 35 people and includes a dryland and irrigation farming operation. With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, Caroona is a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities. The farm supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role
JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot is currently seeking reliable Pen Riders to join our Animal Health team, with full-time, part-time and casual positions available. We are looking for passionate horse riders and cattle handlers who are skilled in, or wish to further develop their horsemanship, cattle handling, livestock diagnosis and treatment skills. Working in a team environment you will be responsible for cattle health and wellbeing across the feedlot. Successful applicants will be a part of an industry leading team that is determined and efficient.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Daily livestock handling including pen riding and stock movements
- Diagnosis of animal health symptoms
- Administration of animal health treatments
- Data input and maintenance of animal treatments and stock movements
- Upholding cattle hygiene
- Comply with all JBS WHS, quality assurance and environmental requirements
About You
- Access to a minimum of one, preferably two suitable horses; own tack/saddlery
- Horsemanship skills essential
- Livestock experience highly regarded
- Passionate about animal health and welfare
- Team player
