JBS Australia’s Northern Division operates five strategically-placed processing facilities as well as five feedlots across Queensland and New South Wales, with access to an extensive network of quality cattle.  Our network provides the ability to meet the specific demands of various market segments with an extensive range of grain-fed and pasture-fed products.


About the Role:

JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot is a 24,000 head capacity feedlot situated on the Liverpool Plains, 35km west of Quirindi, North West NSW. The Caroona Feedlot has recently commissioned a brand new state of the art mill to support the business feed operations. The Mill Supervisor will oversee the mill operation, analysis of feed rations and livestock performance. Reporting to the Feedlot Manager you will supervises the mill and feed delivery teams. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual looking forward to working with a modern milling operation to deliver exceptional performance results for the business.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Team adherence and preservation of company protocols and procedures though supervision.
  • Lead team adherence to animal welfare standards, driving best practice.
  • Responsible for bunk management and feed delivery.
  • Analysing cattle feed ratios to comply company standards for cattle type.
  • Responsible for the Coordination of commodity receival, storage and processing.
  • Inventory management including: ordering, calibration, auditing and stocktaking.
  • Leading the feed mill team to meet animal performance KPI’s.
  • Supervise, direct, co-ordinate, train, review, mentor and monitor feed mill employees.
  • Upholding compliance with WHS, QA and Environmental standards in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide feedback and relevant information to nutritionists and head office
  • Continuously adhere to Responsibility Statement requirements.


About you:

  • Proven leadership skills and supervisory capabilities.
  • Experience in an intensive cattle production environment.
  • Knowledge of computer driven mechanical production activities.
  • Mechanical aptitude, sound experience with heavy vehicles and farm related plant.      
  • Strong administration inventory control and logistical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Understanding of cattle health, wellbeing and drivers of performance
