Strategically located on the Liverpool Plains of NSW (1 hour west of Tamworth) between the JBS Riverina and Beef City processing plants, the location of the JBS Caroona Feedlot makes it a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the Queensland and New South Wales based JBS processing facilities. The feedlot has a capacity of 28,000+ head and employs approximately 40 team members. The feedlot includes a dryland and irrigation farming operation which supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role

JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot are currently seeking a reliable Mill Hand to join the team on a full-time basis. The purpose of this position is to assist in the daily delivery of feed, maintain bunk hygiene and commodity handling. The ability and willingness to learn, operating machinery and data entry are integral parts of this position. The Mill Hand position works an 8 on / 6 off rotating roster.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Timely loading, mixing and delivery of feed
• Data entry and maintenance
• Daily pre-operational checks of associated vehicles
• Maintaining and servicing equipment
• General hygiene duties including shovelling, sweeping and washing
• Additional Mill roustabout duties as required

• A mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Good time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
